The iron-hulled Falls of Clyde was launched from Port Glasgow in 1878. She was registered at Honolulu in the days prior to the US annexation of Hawaii, and later at San Francisco. When she was about to be scuttled to form a breakwater at Vancouver in 1963 she was rescued and turned into a floating museum in Hawaii. But last week she was taken out to sea and sunk, to avoid costly maintenance. Story.
An incredibly historic ship reefed due to bureaucratic stupidity. Thanks for sharing this!
