Ottawa and Toronto meet up in Calgary for one of the PWHL’s Takeover Tour road games. These are staged by the league to broaden the popularity of the women’s game, and to size up potential expansion cities. So while the scores matter to the teams, the attendance figures matter to the league. (See below.)

Ottawa comes into the game in 4th place with 33 points. Toronto is 5th with 31. Both teams are after the fourth and final playoff spot.

Ottawa’s leading scorers are Rebecca Leslie and Brianne Jenner, both with 19 points. Toronto’s leading scorer is Daryl Watts with 17.

Arbroath travel to Cappielow. Arbroath are third in the division with 47 points, Morton eighth with 33. Despite their respective positions Morton have handled Arbroath pretty well so far with a win and two draws.

Seventeen Morton players have scored this season, league and cup. Forty-four players have scored on Morton, league and cup. St Johnstone’s Jamie Gullan leads all others with four anti-Ton goals.

There are six matches left in the schedule, including today’s. Are Morton safe from relegation? No. But in order for Morton to finish ninth Ross County must earn two more wins than them in the final six fixtures, and for Morton to finish tenth Ross County and Airdrie must both win two more games than them. Ross County and Airdrie each have only one win from their previous six league matches.

Morton have been fined for bad fan behaviour at the Scottish Cup Round Four match against Stenhousemuir January 17th.

HFX Wanderers played Leiknir Reykjavik of the Icelandic second tier last weekend in Spain. 0 – 0. Video. Prior to leaving they played both Dal and St FX indoors and beat them both 5 – 0, though to be fair the university soccer season is at the other end of the year. Thursday they beat Mons Calpe of the Gibraltar league 3 – 1. Rampersad and Telfer have been called up by the Trinidad and Tobago national team. Former HFX Wanderer Wesley Timoteo has signed with Ottawa.

Dario Zanatta, who has played for Hearts, Queen’s Park, Raith Rovers, Alloa Athletic, Partick Thistle, Ayr United, Hamilton Academical and most recently Pacific FC, signed with Tormenta FC of the USL League One in January, and in February the club folded.

Former HFX Wanderer Tiago Coimbra has signed with IFK Göteborg, so let’s follow them. They play in the Swedish Allsvenkan, which is a summer league, but they’ve already played plenty of matches.
